Join Restore the Delta at the upcoming Delta Conveyance Project hearing on Monday, May 19th!
After the March 24th hearing was disrupted by a Zoom-bombing attack, this new hearing will be held in a hybrid format, meaning the public can now participate either in person or via Zoom to share how the Delta Tunnel Project would negatively impact our communities in the Bay-Delta.
Restore the Delta, along with 40 other protestants, is providing scientific, legal, and policy-based evidence to the State Water Resources Control Board to show how the project will harm Delta water users. Use your voice and join us to stop the Delta Tunnel Project for good!
Why This Matters:
The State Water Resources Control Board will decide whether to grant the Department of Water Resources (DWR) a permit to divert water for the tunnel. This decision could devastate Delta communities, ecosystems, and local economies.
How You Can Participate:
- Register to make a public comment: https://bit.ly/4jUl2MK
- Choose how you’ll attend: in-person or virtually
- Use our Delta Conveyance Project One-Pager and Comment Examples to draft a 5-minute public policy statement (about 450–475 words) explaining how the tunnel would negatively impact your family or community, your business or organization, environmental or economic interests, and how you as a ratepayer may be forced to help fund the project.
- Mark your calendars and join us on:
- Date: Monday, May 19, 2025
- Time: 9:00 AM
- In-Person Location: Joe Serna Jr. CalEPA Building, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA
- Virtual Option: Each interested person who has completed the Registration Form will receive an individualized link to join the webinar at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19.
