Experts to Criticize Flawed BDCP Process,
Feinstein Federal Rollbacks:
No BDCP Implementing Agreement,
S 2918 Would Remove Key Protections

Sacramento, CA- Restore the Delta (RTD), opponents of Gov. Brown’s rush to build Peripheral Tunnels that would drain the Delta and doom sustainable farms, and salmon and other Pacific fisheries, announced today they will hold a teleconference on Wednesday, May 14, to criticize the lack of an Implementing Agreement (IA) and outline harm that would result from Sen. Feinstein’s S 2198.

“Permitting is not complete. There is no financial plan or agreement. The Implementing Agreement will not be released to the public until after the public comment period on the BDCP and its EIR/S is complete. Yet, DWR is moving forward to implement the project,” said Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, executive director of RTD. “Sen. Feinstein’s bill uses the drought as an excuse to roll back decades of key protections. S 2198 would cause irreparable harm to the Delta.”
